RETTEW HIRES HISTORIC RESOURCES SPECIALIST

LANCASTER, Pa. – RETTEW, a comprehensive engineering, planning
and environmental consulting firm serving the mid-Atlantic region,
recently welcomed Suzanne E. Stasiulatis as a historic resources
specialist.
“Suzanne brings to RETTEW a specialized expertise that has
become increasingly valuable to clients whose projects in some way
involve preserving a cultural, historic or archeological resource,”
said Mark P. Lauriello, president, RETTEW. “On behalf of RETTEW,

Working from RETTEW’s Lancaster office in the natural sciences
group, Stasiulatis provides consultation on historic and archaeological
resources, such as historic buildings, landmarks and archaeological
sites and artifacts, and works with state and local governmental
agencies and historic preservation review boards to secure permits,
clearances and approvals. She also identifies and evaluates historic
and archaeological resources to comply with federal agency requirements,
the State Historic Preservation Office, local communities and private
entities. Additionally, Stasiulatis develops compliance reports
and various mitigation projects as mandated by federal, state and
local historic preservation and archaeological preservation laws.
With nearly five years of experience in cultural resource management,
including a strong focus on architectural history and archaeology,
Stasiulatis has worked in private- and public-sector organizations
throughout Pennsylvania. She is well versed in creating historic
structures assessment reports; context research; National Register
documentation; Historic American Building Survey (HABS) documentation;
Phase I, II and III surveys; and working with geographic information
system (GIS) programs.
Stasiulatis has a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and a
bachelor’s degree in art history from Penn State University
and a master’s degree in historic preservation from the University
of Maryland. Her academic studies included research and documentation,
oral history, adaptive re-use, green building design, industrial
architecture and community planning. She is a member of the National
Trust for Historic Preservation and the Association for Preservation
Technology International (APT), D.C. Chapter. APT is a cross-disciplinary,
membership organization dedicated to promoting the best technology
for conserving historic structures and their settings. She resides
in Lancaster County, Pa.
