Effective public
recreational spaces involve not only modernized parks, picnic
facilities and athletic venues, but also open space areas
such as river corridors and forested areas. RETTEW takes an
integrated approach to helping communities address all types
of recreational needs. Developing “greenways”
or connections among recreational areas via trails or paths
is essential for encouraging use of open space. We recognize
that educating the public on how to enjoy these facilities
while maintaining their integrity and beauty is key to their
survival and the ongoing benefit to the public.
