Experienced Environmental Engineer Brings Expertise in Federal Market Sector

RETTEW, an Engineering News-Record top 500 design firm providing engineering, transportation, environmental consulting, planning and surveying services, recently welcomed Margaret P. “Peggy” Miller as a project manager in the firm’s environmental engineering group.

Miller is responsible for business development in the federal market sector. Specifically, she is tasked with building and maintaining client relationships in the federal market and coordinating with project managers and subconsultants on a wide range of federal government projects. Miller also provides project management expertise on various water and wastewater projects. She works primarily from RETTEW’s Mechanicsburg, Pa., office.

Miller has more than 20 years of experience working with several governmental agencies on the federal level, including the United States Army Corps of Engineers, the United States Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, and the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Additionally, Miller has more than 31 years of experience in water and wastewater system investigation; design, operations and treatment; management; regulatory negotiation; permitting and federal, state, and local regulation compliance. Her project management experience includes a wide range of diverse environmental and engineering projects. She is well versed in permit preparation; design, operations, and maintenance evaluations; water quality evaluations; water quality investigations and laboratory studies, including process pilot plant studies, permit applications, permit management, and expert witness testimony for court proceedings.

An active member of the Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Association (PMAA), Miller represents PMAA on several Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection advisory committees, including the Chesapeake Bay Point Source Advisory Committee, the Chesapeake Bay Water Implementation Plan (WIP) Phase I Committee and the Chesapeake Bay WIP Phase II Committee. She is also a member of the Central Pennsylvania Water Quality Association, the Society of American Military Engineers and the Water Works Operators’ Association of Pennsylvania. Miller has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She resides in Hanover, Adams County, Pa.
