The Challenge
Health
Management Associates, the leading operator of non-urban acute
care medical hospitals in the United States, wanted to provide
a 43-acre campus-like environment for the new Heart of Lancaster
facility. The new 315,000-square-foot hospital is located
in Lititz, Pennsylvania-right in the heart of rural and historic
Lancaster County.

Our Answer
RETTEW
provided a full range of services from surveying, geotechnical
investigations, zoning and land development approvals to traffic
engineering, stormwater management and wetland design. Surrounded
by a scenic network of walking and bike trails, the new Heart of Lancaster promises to be an asset to the public both in terms
of state-of-the-art medical services and the passive recreational
opportunities it will provide.
