The Challenge
The Lancaster
City Bureau of Police outgrew its headquarters facility, and
a new state-of-the-art, four-story, 60,000-square-foot police
station was needed. In addition to housing offices for patrol
and criminal investigation units, this highly specialized
facility would need to accommodate investigation laboratories,
a round-the-clock communications center and a live ammunition
firing range.

Our Answer
Partnering with an architect nationally
known for its police station design, RETTEW provided surveying,
land development and mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering
services for a new $12 million building. In addition to the
HVAC, lighting, power and fire protection systems, RETTEW's
design successfully addressed highly specialized design challenges
presented by the firing range, laboratories, the communications
center and the facility's overall high-level security needs.
