The Challenge
The west branch of the Susquehanna
River flows through a 77-mile corridor rich in a wide variety
of natural, cultural, historical and recreational resources.
The Northcentral Pennsylvania Conservancy recognized that
these resources could not be managed efficiently until they
were consistently documented and a shared vision for their
conservation was established among the corridor's inhabitants.

Our Answer
RETTEW inventoried and identified the
threatened and endangered species within the 77-mile corridor
and used a helicopter to performed GPS videologging and document
the corridor's major features. RETTEW then linked this video
and data to GIS mapping, enabling viewers to take a virtual
tour of the river corridor and gain a clear understanding
of how its resources are intertwined. This information, along
with input gathered through an extensive public involvement
program, served as the basis for a comprehensive River Conservation
Plan. |
