The Challenge
GPU
Energy, owner of the Piney Dam, needed to quickly obtain deed
research, deed plots and boundary information to update the
original survey from 1922 of this 1,400-acre area. Performing
this surveying would require shoreline access along the Clarion
River.

Our Answer
RETTEW used RTK GPS to locate approximately
900 monuments, the waterline crossing, gas and electric utility
easements and access easements along the corridor. Our survey
crews accessed the shorelines using two johnboats. Fieldwork
was completed two weeks ahead of schedule, and the project
was delivered within GPU Energy's budget. RETTEW provided
the client with a final color drawing of the site in AutoCAD.
