LANCASTER, Pa. – The shareholders of RETTEW Associates, Inc. (RETTEW), recently elected Robert M. Lauriello, PE, to the firm’s board of directors. Lauriello is vice president of RETTEW’s civil/municipal and transportation engineering services.

As a member of RETTEW’s board of directors, Lauriello has fiduciary responsibility to the firm and its shareholders, playing a significant role in RETTEW’s decision-making regarding financial management, the firm’s strategic direction, major policies and the appointment of corporate officers. Lauriello’s seat on the board runs through June 2014.

RETTEW welcomed Lauriello in 1998 as a project engineer in the firm’s civil/municipal group. The firm subsequently promoted Lauriello to project manager and later to assistant director of telecommunications. In 2003, Lauriello was promoted to director of civil/municipal engineering, and in 2004 RETTEW named him shareholder of the firm as a result of his contributions to the firm’s overall growth and success. In 2009, Lauriello assumed a dual role as director of civil/ municipal engineering and transportation engineering services, and in 2010 RETTEW promoted Lauriello to vice president of civil/municipal and transportation engineering services. As vice president of civil/municipal and transportation engineering services, Lauriello is responsible for formulating strategies for the future direction and growth of the transportation, structural, planning, community development and civil/municipal groups.

A registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey and Virginia, Lauriello holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Penn State University. He is a past board member of the West Shore Chamber of Commerce (WSCC) and presently chairs WSCC’s transportation committee. Lauriello is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Central Pennsylvania Section; the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors and the American Society of Highway Engineers, Harrisburg Section. He resides in South Middleton Township, Cumberland County, Pa., with his wife, Christine, and their two children, Katherine and TJ.
