LANCASTER, Pa. — RETTEW, an Engineering News-Record top 500 design firm providing engineering, transportation, environmental consulting, planning and surveying services, recently welcomed new hires James E. Boyer; Bradley R. Griffith; Charles A. Hauber, PE, PS; James C. Hendricks Jr., PE; Robert M. Rowe, GISP; and David E. Wells, EIT.

James E. Boyer
Boyer is a senior environmental scientist in the natural sciences division in RETTEW’s Lancaster, Pa., office. He works with state and federal agencies on behalf of RETTEW’s natural gas clients to obtain the appropriate environmental clearances for well pad and impoundment projects. In addition to environmental permitting and reporting, Boyer provides site evaluations. He has 22 years of experience in natural sciences work, predominantly in the transportation industry. He is well versed in National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation, permitting and approvals. Boyer is a Penn State University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in environmental resource management and a master’s degree in environmental pollution control. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Environmental Professionals and resides in York, York County, Pa. 

Bradley R. Griffith
Griffith is an environmental scientist in the natural sciences division in RETTEW’s Liberty, N.Y., office. He assists natural gas clients in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia in complying with various environmental regulations, including the Clean Water Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, the Endangered Species Act and the National Historic Preservation Act. Specifically, Griffith is responsible for performing wetland delineations, preparing and submitting environmental permit applications and coordinating and communicating with regulatory agencies. Griffith has seven years of experience in environmental sciences work and is a graduate of Hobart and William Smith Colleges with a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies/public policy. He is a member of the Society of Wetland Scientists and resides in Syracuse, Onondaga County, N.Y. 

Charles A. Hauber, PE, PS
Hauber is a land development project manager in RETTEW’s Canton, Ohio, office. Hauber works with one of RETTEW’s key clients involved in natural gas exploration and production in Ohio’s Utica Shale play. In his role, he is responsible for designing and providing project management for water impoundment facilities. Hauber provides quality control oversight and reviews well plat designs, ensuring they meet Ohio Department of Natural Resources standards. Hauber has more than 20 years of experience in surveying and civil engineering, which includes his working with municipalities and preparing right-of-way plans for the Ohio Department of Transportation. Hauber is a registered professional engineer (PE) and professional surveyor (PS) in Ohio. He has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Akron. He resides in Akron, Summit County, Ohio.

James C. Hendricks Jr., PE
Hendricks is a project manager for the energy services division in RETTEW’s Lehigh Valley, Pa., office. Working with RETTEW’s natural gas clients, he is responsible for managing the design of water supply and treatment facilities, natural gas collection and conveyance systems and routing for pipeline right-of-ways. He also assists clients with obtaining environmental permits. Hendricks has 28 years of experience in working with government and regulatory agencies. He has prepared economic and feasibility studies, conducted civil engineering studies for pipeline routing and managed projects related to the design, construction and modification of structures, pipelines, wastewater treatment plants, roadways and public works infrastructure. Hendricks is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania, New Mexico and Texas. He has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from New Mexico State University. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Lehigh Valley section; the American Institute of Steel Construction and the National Society of Professional Engineers. Hendricks resides in Long Pond, Monroe County, Pa.

Robert M. Rowe, GISP
Rowe is a project manager in the energy services division in RETTEW’s Williamsport, Pa., office. He works with RETTEW’s key natural gas clients to manage projects relative to permitting and design for deliverables such as pipelines, impoundments, tank pads and well pads. His work includes providing consulting support for clients for environmental permitting including well permits, general permits, highway occupancy permits and erosion and sedimentation control general permits-1 (ESCGP-1). Rowe also works with other divisions within RETTEW to provide geographic information systems (GIS) expertise and assistance. Rowe has 22 years of professional experience, four of which include his working with the natural gas industry. He is a certified geographic information systems professional (GISP) and has a bachelor’s degree in geography/regional planning from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of Pennsylvania Management Association of Private Photogrammetric Surveyors (PaMAPPS) and Pennsylvania Mapping and Geographic Consortium (PaMAGIC).  He resides in Mifflinburg, Union County, Pa.

David E. Wells, EIT
Wells is a senior engineer in the land development division in RETTEW’s Mechanicsburg, Pa., office. He is responsible for administering RETTEW’s quality control/quality assurance (QA/QC) standards and providing QA/QC on all of RETTEW’s land development projects. He also writes QA/QC procedures and is tasked with further advancing QA/QC standards in RETTEW’s land development and survey divisions. Wells has 30 years of construction and land development experience, which includes his managing a variety projects involving highway and transportation facilities. Additionally, he is well versed in subdivision and land development planning for natural gas, residential and community facilities.  Wells is an engineer in training (EIT) and has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Santa Clara University. He resides in Leola, Lancaster County, Pa.
