EPA Brownfields Cleanup Grants Deadline

The Brownfields Program provides funds for states, Tribal Nations, communities, and other stakeholders to prevent, assess, safely clean up, and sustainably reuse brownfield sites. The Brownfields Cleanup Grants provide funding for cleanup activities at brownfield sites owned by the applicant. Funds may be used to address sites contaminated by petroleum and/or hazardous substances, pollutants, or contaminants (including hazardous substances comingled with petroleum).
Eligible Entities: Various; please refer to the EPA Brownfields Eligibility web page for a complete list of entities eligible for funding
Award Amount: Varies; applicants may request up to $500,000, up to $2 million, or up to $4 million to address one or more brownfield sites contaminated by hazardous substances, pollutants, contaminants, or petroleum.
Required Match: 20 percent cost share, which may be in the form of a contribution of money, labor, material, or services, and must be for eligible and allowable costs; EPA has waived cost share requirements for ARC Grants in FY25 per the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
