Local Food Promotion Program Deadline

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE (USDA) AGRICULTURAL MARKETING SERVICE (AMS)
The Local Food Promotion Program (LFPP) funds projects that develop, coordinate, and expand local and regional food business enterprises that engage as intermediaries in indirect producer-to-consumer marketing to help increase access to and availability of locally and regionally produced agricultural products. It offers four types of grants: 24-Month Planning, 36-Month Implementation, 24-Month Turnkey Marketing and Promotion, and 24-Month Turnkey Recruitment and Training. Eligible Entities: Agricultural business and cooperatives, community supported agriculture (CSA) networks or associations, economic development corporations, food councils, local governments, nonprofit corporations, producer networks or associations, public benefit corporations, regional farmers market authorities, and Tribal governments; all applicants must be domestic entities owned, operated, and located within the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, or Tribal governments.
Award Amount: Varies by grant type
Required Match: A cash or in-kind contribution of 25% of the amount of federal funds being requested is required. Federal funds are not permitted to be used as a match. There is no competitive advantage for an applicant to provide a cost share that exceeds the required amount.
