
Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant Program Deadline

Open to counties, cities, towns, townships, metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs), and other eligible applicants, the SS4A grants program provides funds to improve roadway safety by reducing or eliminating roadway fatalities and injuries.
- Planning and Demonstration Grants – Used to develop, complete, or supplement a comprehensive safety action plan and carry out demonstration activities that inform an action plan
- Implementation Grants – Used to implement strategies or projects consistent with an existing action plan; may also bundle funding requests for supplemental planning and demonstration activities that inform an action plan.
Award Amount: Planning and Demonstration Grants: $100,000 – $10 million, with larger award amounts for MPOs; Implementation Grants: $2.5 million – $25 million
Required Match: At least 20% local match of eligible activity costs. Matching funds must be from non-federal sources and may include funding from the applicant.
