Walkworks provides funds for developing active transportation plans that guide establishing safe, accessible, active routes connecting everyday destinations, and also help with expanding opportunities for physical activity and improving public health. Eligible Entities: Municipalities – namely boroughs, townships, cities, or counties – and Metropolitan and Rural Planning Organizations
Award Amount: $15,000-$35,000, depending on population size and priority area designation
Required Match: Communities/counties identified as priority areas are not required to provide cost sharing/matching funds. Communities/counties not identified as priority areas are required to provide a cash match equal to 50% of the requested award; documentation of the match must be submitted with the application.
Applications Due: March 22, 2024, by 5:00 PM
