MLB-MLBPA Youth Development Foundation Grant – Letter of Inquiry

MLB-MLBPA Youth Development Foundation

The MLB-MLBPA Youth Development Foundation strives to make youth baseball and softball more accessible through a grant program that supports:

  • Capital Projects – Field lighting, renovations, and construction
  • Baseball and Softball Programs – Includes equipment, uniforms, various fees, and field maintenance
  • Education Initiatives – Learning opportunities with baseball and softball as the focus
  • Schools – Up to $5,000 for players and infrastructure equipment.

All Letter of Inquiry (LOI) submissions must contain a completed information form, an introductory letter, and a completed budget proposal, which can be download from their website.

Eligible Entities: Organizations and individuals that have bold, innovative, and creative ideas to increase opportunities for youth (elementary through high school), youth who are minorities, girls and/or located in underserved communities, to play baseball and/or softball

Accepts LOI submissions on a rolling basis throughout the year, but it can take up to six months to be awarded a grant if your application is selected. For example, if you apply for funding for your season that begins in March 2025, the MLB-MLBPA Youth Development Foundation recommends submitting your application in August 2024.

Our Town

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA)

NEA’s Our Town program supports activities that integrate local arts, culture, and design efforts to strengthen communities. These projects advance economic, physical, and/or social outcomes within their local community and are required to include a partnership component.

Applying for an Our Town grant is a multi-step process that also requires registering with the System for Award Management (SAM) and Allow yourself enough time to get registered on each site as it can take several weeks.

Eligible Entities: Nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3), U.S. organizations; nonprofit institutions of higher education; local governments; or federally recognized tribal communities or tribes that have completed at least three years of arts programming prior to the application deadline
Award Amount:
Ranges from $25,000-$150,000
Required Match:
A minimum non-federal cost share/match equal to the grant amount

Dauphin County Local Share Municipal Grant Program

Dauphin County Gaming Advisory Board

The Dauphin County Local Share Municipal Grant Program helps to distribute funds generated by gaming to eligible local governments for projects that support and enhance community and economic well-being and mitigate the impact of gaming and related activities. Please refer to supporting documentation for the grant criteria, FAQs, grant hearing information, application, and checklist.

Pre-application conferences are strongly encouraged before August 1, 2024, but can occur until August 15, 2024. Although pre-application conferences are not required, applicants who do not schedule one will lose substantial points when their application is scored and may be precluded from fully participating in the grant review process.

Eligible Entities: East Hanover Township, municipalities contiguous with East Hanover Township and located within Dauphin County (Derry, Middle Paxton, Rush, South Hanover, and West Hanover Townships), and Dauphin County. Non-contiguous municipalities within Dauphin County may be eligible if they are sponsored by one of the eligible municipalities or Dauphin County.
