Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside (TASA) Program

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)

TASA provides funding for alternative transportation projects and activities, which can include pedestrian and bicycle facilities, community improvement activities, and Safe Routes to School projects. It is funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, enacted as the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

A complete list of requirements, eligible projects and sponsors, and information on the TASA application system is available in PennDOT’s 2023 Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program Guidance and Procedures. TASA is not a grant program. No money is provided upfront. Projects are funded at 100% of the construction cost, including construction inspection.

Historical & Archival Records Care (HARC) Grant Program

Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission

Offering two levels of funding – single organization and collaborative – these grants assist nonprofit organizations and local governments with preserving historically valuable original archival records. The performance period for the grant is two years. For questions about a specific project or archival records in your care, please contact the grant administrator, Natasha Margulis, directly, at nmargulis@pa.gov or 717-705-1676.

Please note: Works of art, textiles, artifacts, and museum objects are not eligible. 

Award Amount: Single Organization: Up to $5,000; Collaborative: Up to $10,000 (for two organizations applying jointly) or up to $15,000 (for three organizations applying together)
Required Match: No match is required for either level of funding.
Applications Due: August 1, 2023


Our Town

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA)

NEA’s Our Town program supports activities that integrate local arts, culture, and design efforts to strengthen communities. These projects advance economic, physical, and/or social outcomes within their local community and are required to include a partnership component.

Applying for an Our Town grant is a multi-step process that also requires registering with the System for Award Management (SAM) and Grants.gov. Allow yourself enough time to get registered on each site as it can take several weeks.

Award Amount: Ranges from $25,000-$150,000
Required Match: A minimum non-federal cost share/match equal to the grant amount
Part 1 (Grants.gov) Applications Due: August 3, 2023, by 11:59 PM, Eastern 

Part 2 (Applicant Portal) Applications Due: August 10-17, 2023, by 11:59 PM, Eastern 


Dauphin County Local Share Municipal Grant Program

Dauphin County Gaming Advisory Board

The Dauphin County Local Share Municipal Grant Program helps to distribute funds generated by gaming to eligible local governments for projects that support and enhance community and economic well-being and mitigate the impact of gaming and related activities. Please refer to supporting documentation for the grant criteria, FAQs, hearing information, application, and checklist.

Pre-application conferences are strongly encouraged before August 1, 2023, but can occur until August 25, 2023. Although pre-application conferences are not required, applicants who do not schedule one will lose points when their application is evaluated.

Award Amount: Municipal Applicants: $150,000 maximum; Non-Municipal Applicants: $75,000 maximum
