Janel Simmers, Health, Safety, and Environment Team Lead at RETTEW, has 20 years of experience including serving as both project and program manager for a multitude of clients as well as providing and overseeing facility compliance management and environmental permitting support. In addition, Janel has conducted industrial compliance inspections, assessments, audits, Phase I and II environmental site assessments, subsurface investigations, soil sampling, indoor air quality monitoring, and noise monitoring studies. She is experienced in completing permit applications with consequent reporting for state regulatory agencies for waste management, water, and air quality; developing and implementing plans for emergency response and spill response; and providing training and safety standards. Approaching facility regulatory needs with a solution-based method, including a determination to address challenges with efficiency and effectiveness, Janel collaborates with the client’s goals and compliance as the focus and uses her range of technical experience and management skills to attain and surpass the desired result.

A member of the Lancaster County Industrial Safety Council, Janel earned her Bachelor of Science in environmental studies from Stockton University.
