For Sean Harris-Clark, utility locating is more than a job—it’s a puzzle waiting to be solved. As a Senior Utility Locator at RETTEW, Sean thrives on the challenge of figuring out how utilities were installed decades ago, often with limited maps or records to guide him. “Utility locating is similar to solving a complex puzzle,” Sean explains. “It challenges you to think outside the box and piece together systems that were built 20, 30, even 40 years ago.” That problem-solving aspect is his favorite part of the job, and it’s what keeps him engaged on every project.

Sean’s work has led to some unusual experiences, including one memorable day at Six Flags Great Adventure. While tracing an electric line through the safari area, Sean found himself being followed by ostriches! Unaware that the zookeepers hadn’t put them away, he completed the job under the watchful eyes of his curious companions.
Outside of work, Sean enjoys hiking with his dog, Doc, and visiting his favorite swimming hole, as pictured here. And while he calls Pennsylvania home, he’s a die-hard New York Rangers fan—a fact that might surprise many.
Whether he’s solving complex utility puzzles or cheering on the New York Rangers, Sean brings the same level of focus and enthusiasm to everything he does. We are proud of his work, which makes him an integral part of RETTEW’s success!
