RETTEW facilitated the design, permitting, and construction of a horizontal well pad for an oil and gas client. The project posed a series of complex challenges that our team navigated to ensure compliance with regulations set forth by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources under Chapter 1501:9 of the Ohio Administrative Code.
Throughout the project, we addressed the specific needs of the site, including considerations such as well spacing, equipment layout, traffic flow, and turning radius requirements. Additionally, the site had challenges related to bearing capacity and factor of safety, requiring us to create a design that met operational demands.
Although the site itself was not within a designated floodplain, the project encountered unique topographical features that necessitated careful planning. Our geotechnical investigation revealed a high water table, prompting us to design toe-key drains capable of functioning effectively in saturated conditions while ensuring minimal disruptions to ongoing operations at the site.
RETTEW delivered a tailored solution that addressed our client’s needs through attention to detail and a comprehensive understanding of both regulatory standards and site-specific constraints.
