The Elizabethtown Regional Sewer Authority (ERSA), which serves Mount Joy and West Donegal Townships, partnered with RETTEW to enhance their process for managing and accessing sewer system data. We helped ERSA set up their own ArcGIS Online Organization, allowing them to take full ownership of their geographic data. We transferred their existing data and built a user-friendly desktop web app, making it easy for staff to view and interact with maps directly from their browsers.

To support field operations, we created a mobile map for use in the Esri Field Maps app. ERSA team members now use this tool with Mobile Worker licenses to access and update data. We also added a special layer of record drawings linked to Google Drive, so field crews can instantly access sewer plans on their mobile devices. Both office and field staff can now edit data in real time, improving collaboration and accuracy. RETTEW provided hands-on training for using the Web Experience, Field Maps, and Survey123 — both in the office and in the field. We also designed custom forms in Survey123 for sewer construction and inspection tasks. These forms automatically feed data into the GIS system, displaying results as map points. The Sewer Construction Report tracks details after new mains are installed, including pressure and vacuum test results. The Sewer Inspection Form helps crews perform routine checks on existing mains and includes a prompt to confirm mandrel testing.

Thanks to these upgrades, ERSA now has a more efficient, modern way to manage its sewer infrastructure — saving time, improving data quality, and supporting better service for the community.
