Food Manufacturing Facility Conceptual Exhibit

This industrial client was interested in numerous site and facility improvements such as expanding their existing manufacturing plant footprint, adding a new employee parking lot and entrance, relocating a driveway and truck scale, and adding new truck bays and loading docks. To help conceptualize these projects and gain approval from corporate headquarters, management at this facility needed a 3D model depicting details of the proposed improvements.

Laser scanning was cost-prohibitive and overly accurate for this conceptual presentation to management. RETTEW used terrestrial photogrammetry, controlled and validated with optical and GPS survey control, to create an accurate yet cost-effective 3D model of the existing building and site. We modeled the proposed expansion and delivered a unified Google Earth model and video flyover for the internal presentations. The model also showcased the need and benefit of the proposed improvements and ultimately gained approval to move forward with the expansion project.
