For over two decades, RETTEW has provided continuous environmental consulting and regulatory compliance support to the Frog, Switch & Manufacturing Company, Inc., a Carlisle, Pennsylvania-based manufacturer of manganese steel castings. RETTEW’s engagement began in the early 2000s with a Phase I environmental site assessment to identify recognized environmental conditions. Since then, RETTEW has delivered ongoing services addressing environmental challenges stemming from evolving regulations and industry changes. Our Support has included site characterizations, hazardous material surveys, and post-remedial care. RETTEW has also managed the successful abatement and closure of a historic diesel fuel release and facilitated Final Closure Certification under Pennsylvania’s Act 2 for the facility’s residual waste landfill, demonstrating groundwater attainment and achieving formal Relief from Liability.
Beyond remediation, RETTEW has ensured continued compliance with federal, state, and local regulations through permitting, air quality reporting, waste management, hazardous materials inventory, inspections, sustainability benchmarking, and regulatory adherence. Frog Switch has executed air permitting modifications, submitted biennial waste reports, completed annual residual waste reporting, and filed EPCRA annual summaries. Through a lasting consultancy focused on environmental performance, RETTEW continues to help Frog Switch manage permitting and reporting obligations, minimize risk, maintain compliance, and support closeout operations at this historically significant manufacturing site.
