RETTEW completed a comprehensive boundary survey and Phase I environmental site assessment (ESA) for the Lancaster Conservancy’s acquisition of the 56-acre Ingrid Graham property, now set to become the Ingrid Graham Historic Hellam Nature Preserve. This project, nestled between Hallam and Hellam Townships, is a significant addition to the Conservancy’s network of protected lands.
Our boundary survey meticulously delineated the property, ensuring accurate and precise mapping of its diverse features, including floodplain forests, meadows, sections of Kreutz Creek, and agricultural land. The Phase I ESA – completed according to the ASTM E1527-21 standard – identified and assessed potential environmental concerns, ensuring the site’s suitability for conservation and public use.
Key features of the project include the preservation of several historic structures, such as a renovated 19th-century bank barn and farmhouse, and a restored 18th-century log cabin. These elements not only enhance the site’s cultural value but also provide unique educational opportunities for visitors.
The successful completion of this project underscores RETTEW’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development. By facilitating the creation of this nature preserve, we have contributed to the permanent protection of natural and cultural resources, ensuring they are accessible for future generations.
