Lebanon Valley College Rooftop Installation

Lebanon Valley College was in need of better cell phone coverage for its employees and students. The installation site for the required equipment was an existing building rooftop not originally designed to hold that amount of weight. Another challenge was placing the equipment in the least obtrusive spot on that rooftop.

RETTEW teamed with Verizon Wireless and provided structural analysis, construction drawings, photo simulations, and meeting attendance services, as well as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work through a subcontractor. By designing smaller-than-typical antenna mounting and placing the equipment in less noticeable areas on the rooftop, RETTEW was able to minimize the weight as well as the visual effects of the new equipment. The team’s extensive telecom experience allowed us to understand the project needs at each required approval stage and obtain the approvals from the College, moving the project to construction in a timely manner to provide better cell phone coverage on the campus.
