Sudlersville Water System Design

The Town of Sudlersville does not have a centralized water system. Therefore, residents are exposed to potential health impacts from high levels of arsenic in the groundwater where private wells draw their water. The Town decided to pursue a centralized water supply, treatment, storage, and distribution system to provide the residents with clean, safe, and reliable potable water service.

RETTEW secured USDA funding for the project and designed the centralized system. RETTEW was responsible for designing the water treatment, storage, and distribution systems; permitting the water system; and overseeing construction of the systems. In addition, RETTEW performed the preparation of the construction documents, technical specifications, and plans for construction of the water systems. We coordinated among USDA, MDE, and MDSHA to uphold the requirements of each administration. This project ensures the distribution of clean water to Sudlersville residents and improves the overall health and safety of those living and working in the area.
