University Area Joint Authority Transformer Replacement

The University Area Joint Authority had an outdated transformer that required an emergency replacement. In an effort to avoid continuous generator failures, the client needed to safely replace outdated equipment with new equipment to prevent electrical outages and maintain operations.

RETTEW took over the project from another consultant who was behind schedule and over budget. We completed the design and bidding of the project in 100 days, which kept project expenses within the calendar-year budget as originally planned. Our team worked to provide a cost-effective facility and system design and optimize operations. In addition, our thorough evaluation of the equipment found components that did not need to be replaced and saved the owner $60,000.
