Valley Township Community Readiness Assessment

Over the years, Valley Township discussed various initiatives and projects that never materialized. They needed a project management tool to help identify and focus on priority needs and goals, and the steps required to achieve them. RETTEW stepped in and facilitated strategic planning discussions using our own community readiness assessment (CRA).

The CRA took one day and involved meetings with Township officials, staff, and residents to discuss planning, organization, facilities, and key partnerships as well as field views throughout the community. RETTEW assisted in prioritizing a list of projects and outlining the steps required to move the top four initiatives from the idea stage to completion. This approach aided the Township in assigning responsibility for initiatives and provided a step-by-step guide for moving the projects forward. RETTEW provided cost estimates, completion timeframes, and funding resource information. The CRA resulted in the Township planning a new municipal complex, acquiring adjacent open space, constructing a municipal garage, and assisting the Township in acquiring $25,000 in grants to update its park, recreation, and open space plan — all in line with the CRA recommendations.
