Ed Reese, new Vice President at RETTEW

RETTEW, a multi-disciplined engineering and consulting firm, is pleased to introduce Edward E. Reese as Vice President, beginning Dec. 2012.

Reese’s responsibilities will serve a dual purpose: to direct RETTEW’s offices in Pittsburgh, Pa. and Canton, Ohio, ensuring all client needs are met with excellence; and to lead transportation business development firm-wide.

As the regional manager, he will oversee 78 staff in their daily operations, as well as be responsible for developing, maintaining and strengthening the growth of RETTEW in the region. His commitment to building unity within the region and throughout RETTEW’s markets will involve resource coordination, project management and directing consistent quality.

In his role as business development lead, Reese will generate, maintain and expand RETTEW’s presence in both the local region and within the transportation focus area. He will nurture relationships with key, strategic clients, and develop new business to improve transportation infrastructure throughout Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio.

“It’s exciting to move forward with our plans in the region, and even more so to do that with someone as experienced and passionate as Ed,” said RETTEW President Mark Lauriello. “His leadership experience and transportation and business development background are a perfect fit for RETTEW, especially combined with his dedication to serving clients and the community.”

Reese brings more than 25 years of experience in the engineering field, including business development, regional marketing, strategic planning and senior leadership positions in the transportation, water and wastewater, civil and municipal, and environmental market sectors. Prior to joining RETTEW, Reese served as a senior vice president of HDR, an international engineering, architecture and consulting firm. He was responsible for transportation marketing, strategic planning, government affairs management and business development.

“I’m pleased to step into this position for a growing company in a thriving region,” Reese said. “It’s a great fit in our shared commitment to bettering the communities we live and work in, and for improving the area’s roads, bridges and highways.”

A Pittsburgh-area native and resident, Reese is a graduate from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. He is a member of several engineering professional societies, including the American Road and Transportation Builders Association, American Council of Engineering Companies and the American Society of Highway Engineers. Ed, his wife Cara, and four children, reside in Mt. Lebanon.  In his spare time he enjoys playing ice hockey and golf.
