A grassy knoll is now teeming with fish.

Before the project

When a local client wanted to add a pond to their property, they contacted RETTEW.

The biologists at RETTEW got to work on designing and acquiring permits for the project.

Within a year, our team completed plans, attained permits, and began construction.

We recommended Flyway Excavating, Inc. to construct the pond because of their stream restoration and pond construction experience.

This spring, we helped ensure the pond was stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, and channel catfish.

After the project is complete

To keep everything functioning well and supporting the environment, the pond is fed via a pump from the nearby Little Conestoga Creek, and is aerated by a fountain from manufacturer Otterbine Barebo, Inc. The discharge from the pond fills a downslope watering trough for livestock.
