The North Locust Street Bridge in Lititz, PA is well underway to becoming a new structure!
Deemed structurally deficient, RETTEW designed the replacement bridge as a concrete box culvert.
The project also involves relocation of water and sewer lines, pavement improvements, and drainage additions. Walkways and paths will be upgraded to meet recent Americans with Disabilities Act requirements. Rock aprons will also be put in place to protect the new bridge from high water.
These photos show the project shortly after the box was set in place.
The next steps involve grouting, concrete end foundations, and waterproofing.
Improving local bridges helps relieve traffic congestion and makes communities and neighborhoods better – part of RETTEW’s purpose and passion!
