Automated Red Light Enforcement (ARLE) Transportation Enhancements Grant Program Opens

PennDOT will accept applications for its Automated Red Light Enforcement Transportation Enhancements Grant Program (ARLE Funding Program) from June 1 through June 30, 2024. According to the PennDOT website, ARLE Funding Program applications must be submitted through the Department of Community and Economic Development’s Single Application for Assistance site by an eligible project sponsor.
- A preapplication scoping form is required prior to submitting an application.
- The scoping form should be submitted via email no later than April 30, 2024, to allow time for PennDOT to review and provide feedback prior to the application period in June. Feedback on scoping forms submitted by April 30, 2024, will be provided by May 31. 2024.
- The completed and reviewed scoping form must be uploaded as an attachment to the formal application submission.
Eligible Entities: Any county, city, borough, incorporated town, township, home-rule municipality, or other local boards or bodies with authority to enact laws relating to traffic; any metropolitan planning organization, rural planning organization, or county planning organization; and commonwealth agencies.
Award Amount: There are no minimum or maximum grant request requirements.
Required Match: None, but cost sharing is encouraged. If costs are shared, those partner funds must be available at the time of the ARLE application is submitted.
