This five-day course is required for workers performing site activities at hazardous waste sites. Materials covered include background history, hazard communications, chemistry and toxicology of hazardous substances, hazard recognition, personal and respiratory protective equipment, site health and safety planning, decontamination, emergency and spill response, fire prevention and control, basic first aid and CPR, confined space, and excavation and trenching. Each student will participate in multiple hands-on activities and tabletop exercises.
