Joe Stipe

Geophysicist

Whether looking to identify underground utilities before a planned excavation or depth-to-bedrock and material densities, Joe likes using different non-excavation techniques to decipher what is happening beneath the surface.

As a geophysicist on RETTEW’s Geophysics and Subsurface Utility Engineering team, his primary responsibility is collecting data in the field. You are also apt to find him in different kinds of fields outside of work, as Joe enjoys spending his free time playing softball and soccer. Little known fact: Joe’s high school club soccer team was ranked second in Pennsylvania and 11th in the nation!

A huge fan of The Office – he’s watched the entire series 12 times! – Joe likes that his job allows him to work outdoors and visit interesting places. An outdoorsman who enjoys hunting and fishing, he is pictured here with a notable catch on a recent trip.
