Exelon ALTA/ACSM Surveys

Exelon Generation, one of the nation’s leading power generators, anticipated selling three properties containing decommissioned generating stations. Previously powered by coal or oil-fired burners, Barbadoes Island, Delaware Station, and Schuylkill Station were inefficient and costly to keep active. To assist in insuring title to the land and improvements thereon, Exelon needed an American Land Title Association/American Congress on Surveying and Mapping (ALTA/ACSM) survey to document improvements, easements, encumbrances, rights-of-way, and other items affecting the properties.

As a preferred vendor for Exelon, RETTEW was hired to prepare base mapping and right-of-way plats, legal descriptions, and ALTA/ACSM land title survey plans for these 83-, 16-, and 15-acre parcels. RETTEW established GPS control points, collected data, and obtained the necessary LiDAR mapping to prepare the ALTA/ACSM survey plans. Acquiring the ALTA/ACSM land title survey will enable Exelon to sell the decommissioned properties, remove tax liability, and save thousands of dollars in taxes and maintenance.
