Since 2015, RETTEW has provided Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority (LNAA) and Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE) with industrial National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) consulting, compliance, and permitting support. The initial project — to make the ABE stormwater program compliant with federal and state regulations with an approved NPDES PAG-03 General Permit for industrial stormwater discharge — also included developing the comprehensive preparedness, prevention, and contingency (PPC) plan and spill prevention response (SPR) plan, as required by the stormwater permit. RETTEW updated the PPC and SPR plans and prepared the PAG-03 Permit renewal application, fulfilling the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s requirement. RETTEW also assists LNAA with other routine PAG-03 Permit-required compliance tasks, including semiannual environmental and stormwater inspections, semiannual stormwater quality sampling, electronic discharge monitoring reports, and annual reports.

Additionally, RETTEW has provided environmental and hydrogeologic consulting for various projects at ABE on an as-needed basis, such as environmental site assessments for property acquisitions, storage tank removals, sinkhole investigations, spill response assistance, and regulatory assistance, as well as the subsurface investigation and remediation of a fuel spill on the aviation fuel farm.
