RETTEW was awarded a 2023 American Council of Engineering Companies of Pennsylvania (ACEC/PA) Diamond Award for our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the engineering profession.

“This award means a great deal to us as it reaffirms our dedication to creating a more diverse and inclusive industry,” said RETTEW President and CEO Clayton Bubeck. “We are committed to doing everything we can not only because it’s ethically right but also because it makes us better engineers. Diverse teams bring different perspectives, which leads to better design solutions.”

RETTEW’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Team was formed as a grassroots effort in October 2020. Twenty-three colleagues of differing genders, races, ages, backgrounds, and technical specialties came together to imagine, design, build and launch a robust DEI program. The DEI Team’s work to create an inclusive environment has focused on a heightened awareness of, sensitivity to, and respect for the unique backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives of those around them. The Team implemented numerous initiatives, including targeted recruitment efforts, DEI professional development opportunities, and the creation of numerous DEI-centric tools to be used in meetings and presentations to elevate DEI concepts.

Kleinfelder Inc., was also awarded a 2023 ACEC/PA Diamond Award for their DEI initiative. We are thrilled to see the strides being taken across the AEC industry! We look forward to continuing our work as our team learns and develops new ways to focus on DEI initiatives and share them with co-workers, clients, and community.

“We are so inspired by the work our member firms are doing to build diverse and inclusive cultures and workplaces that this year we are recognizing two outstanding firms for their DE&I efforts,” said Roseline Bougher, president of ACEC/PA’s board of directors. “RETTEW Associates and Kleinfelder are setting an example for all companies to emulate by creating workplace environments where employees are able to grow their careers regardless of gender or ethnicity.”
