RETTEW, an Engineering News-Record top 500 design firm providing engineering, transportation, environmental consulting, planning and surveying services, recently welcomed new hires James R. Aiken II, PLS, EIT, and Michael R. Ogden, PE.

James R. Aiken II, PLS, EIT

Aiken is a project manager in the survey group in RETTEW’s Williamsport office. He manages the workflow between RETTEW’s survey field staff and office personnel to ensure maximum quality and efficiency. Additionally, Aiken trains survey staff and is responsible for scheduling, budgeting and quality control oversight.

A professional land surveyor and engineer in training, Aiken has 10 years of experience, which includes his managing survey crews in boundary, topographic, construction stakeout, ALTA/ACSM surveys and control surveys. Additionally, he has land development experience, which includes site design, stormwater control and erosion and sedimentation control designs for residential and commercial clients.

Aiken is a graduate of the Pennsylvania College Technology with an associate’s degree in survey technology and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering technology. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Professional Land Surveyors and a resident of Muncy, Lycoming County, Pa.

Michael R. Ogden, PE

Ogden is a senior engineer in land development in RETTEW’s Mechanicsburg office, responsible for overseeing all aspects of land development services the firm provides to natural gas clients. Additionally, his role involves client relationship management, budget management, consultant coordination, public presentations, and he serves as technical leader, coach and mentor to other land development staff.

Ogden has 24 years of combined experience in civil engineering and the construction industry. His expertise includes project and construction management for multi-disciplined projects, site engineering, construction and bid document preparation, design and construction of hydraulic structures, field investigations, infrastructure evaluation, stormwater management, preparation of environmental impact statements, management of earthwork operations and permit acquisition.
