RETTEW has a nose for the best places.

Two hometowns near our offices were recently named by Forbes and U.S. News & World Report as the best places to live and visit.

Our headquarters in Lancaster, PA is just outside the bustling downtown of the City of Lancaster. The city blends Victorian-era history with thriving arts, entertainment, and eateries, along with an incredibly diverse population from around the globe.

Forbes contributor Ann Abel asked high-end travel designers to share their favorite U.S. destinations, recommending where they send their clients for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in the country. Lancaster made the top-ten list as one of the country’s best-kept secrets. The article said Lancaster is “bucolic but boasts a bustling food scene and is quickly becoming a cultural hotbed. The architecture is the real star…”

We think so, too!

In the U.S. News research, the publication analyzed data in six categories: housing affordability, happiness, desirability, retiree taxes, job market, and health care quality.

Harrisburg, PA came in at No. 34 on the list, with an overall score of 6.7. Lancaster was No. 41 with a score of 6.6.

Harrisburg, which has continued to see investment in the past several years, is improving everything from its business atmosphere to its focus on education and transportation infrastructure.

RETTEW is proud of our Central Pennsylvania roots, which have helped us provide knowledgeable, local services even as we expand across the country.
