RETTEW recently hired two staff members in Pennsylvania – one in Pittsburgh and one in our headquarters in Lancaster, PA.

Matthew Ridgway

A Senior Engineer for RETTEW’s Geotechnical group, Ridgway works in our Pittsburgh office. He oversees projects involving slope stability issues and performs geotechnical engineering calculations and field investigations. He mainly works in the energy and development industries. With five years of experience, Ridgway is skilled in foundation design, slope stability design, earth retention structure design, full-depth reclamation, settlement analysis, and geotechnical instrumentation and design. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Society of Highway Engineers. Ridgway has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a second bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, both From West Virginia University. He is also in the process of obtaining his master’s degree in Geotechnics. Ridgway is an active part of his community by serving as a member of the Monongalia County Development Authority and President of the Planning Commission.

Austin Steffy

Working from RETTEW’s Lancaster office, Steffy is a Senior Designer in our Land Development group. He assists with engineering and designs for development projects mainly in the commercial market. He brings 13 years of experience completing stormwater management projects and land development designs in the education, healthcare, and agricultural markets. Steffy has an associate’s degree from York Technical Institute in Specialized Business, Architectural, and Civil Drafting. A leader in local sports, he coaches children in the Lampeter Strasburg Youth Soccer program.
