Bloomsburg Wastewater Treatment Plant Safety Audit

The Municipal Authority of the Town of Bloomsburg wanted to ensure all current buildings and structures complied with OSHA standards and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Codes and Standards. As a trusted consultant to the Authority who values our commitment to a culture where the health, safety, and well-being of our clients and employees is the number one priority, RETTEW was contracted to conduct a safety audit of their wastewater treatment plant.

RETTEW conducted a tour of the facilities to identify potential safety hazards and deficiencies related to applicable portions of various regulatory programs. These programs included Life Safety Code, National Electric Code, International Building Code and Sub-Codes, OSHA Process Safety Management, and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Wastewater and Chemical Storage.

RETTEW’s diligent project management enabled us to tour the facilities within one week of signing a contract. Within ten days of touring the facility we provided the Authority with a report of our on-site inspection outlining deficiencies, including their location, our findings, the applicable code, and a recommendation with photo documentation. This audit and subsequent report allowed the Authority to initiate steps to improve conditions at their facilities.
