Lancaster County Engineer

Located in South Central Pennsylvania along the Susquehanna River, Lancaster County is more than 950 square miles, with a population of more than 507,000 residents throughout 60 municipalities. The County touts a diverse population with rich agricultural roots, a large Amish community, and a strong sense of history.

In this role, RETTEW is responsible for supervising and managing the County’s engineering work. To date we have provided review services for the Lancaster County Planning Commission (LCPC) for 11 municipalities under the County’s jurisdiction. We are also providing countywide engineering and review services for LCPC in traffic engineering, transportation engineering, geotechnical investigations, Act 167 model stormwater management ordinance compliance, structural engineering, and many other engineering disciplines. RETTEW has also been instrumental in developing and executing a capital improvement program for 64 County-owned bridges, performing multiple bridge maintenance, rehabilitation, and replacement projects — many of which are award-winning. Additionally as County Engineer, we oversee County facility projects, providing engineering and landscape architecture services for park and recreation projects and the Lancaster County Prison.
