Looking to potentially acquire existing assets and mineral rights in northern Ohio, a land development client needed a limited due diligence investigation to audit several wells and associated facilities on the subject property. The focus of the assessment was six oil and natural gas well sites and two tank batteries that were more than 30 years old. The purpose of the investigation was to determine the condition of the wells and associated tank batteries, as well as to document any environmental impacts prior to a potential property acquisition.
RETTEW visited each site to conduct a visual inspection and fugitive gas screening of the wells and associated appurtenances. We also evaluated the site-specific environmental impacts of each oil and gas well, the tank batteries, and associated equipment. Through the preparation of a limited due diligence investigation report, RETTEW found environmental impacts to be consistent with normal well operations and expected condition of the tank batteries. Our thorough report enabled the client to make an informed decision about the property acquisition.
