SR 172 Perry Drive Intersection Improvements

The intersection of SR 172 and Perry Drive was on Ohio’s Governors priority list of the top ten most dangerous intersections in the state and needed significant upgrades to increase safety for motorists. During construction, the prime engineer required the expertise of a subconsultant to develop signal timings for phases of temporary traffic conditions.

Having relevant prequalification status with the Ohio Department of Transportation, RETTEW provided traffic signal timing expertise for this project. In addition to developing temporary signal times during multiple construction phases, RETTEW prepared a final design traffic signal, including design and location of new traffic signal poles and signing, intersection phasing timing, and coordinated system timings. The upgrades to the intersection and the closed loop system are anticipated to have a positive impact on driver safety in this area.
