Paradise Township Community Readiness Assessment

Paradise Township previously created a comprehensive plan that identified initiatives and projects it wanted to undertake. Unfortunately, the Township wasn’t successful in accomplishing many of the initiatives. They needed a tool to help them prioritize projects and steps to achieve them.

RETTEW facilitated strategic planning discussions with Township officials, staff, and residents using our community readiness assessment (CRA). We explored planning, organization, and facilities topics, including important Township needs, related key partnerships, and the capacity to address and involve them. Using the CRA, RETTEW guided the Township in identifying and prioritizing key projects and the steps needed to move the top four initiatives from concept to completion. With this information, Paradise Township could assign responsibility for carrying out specific initiatives.

RETTEW also developed cost estimates, timeframes, and funding resource information to help manage the projects and schedule Township staff work plans. The CRA resulted in the Township creating a community park master plan and securing $150,000 in grant funding for park improvements, completing a mixed-use zoning plan for the U.S. Route 30 corridor, implementing an on-lot disposal system management program, and planning and celebrating the Township’s 300th anniversary — moving valuable projects and initiatives forward to the benefit of this community.
