The Lancaster City Bureau of Police outgrew its headquarters facility and needed a new state-of-the-art, four-story, 60,000-SF police station. In addition to housing offices for patrol and criminal investigation units, this highly specialized facility would need to accommodate investigation laboratories, a round-the-clock communications center, and a live ammunition firing range.
Partnering with an architect nationally known for its police station design, RETTEW provided surveying, structural, and land development planning and engineering services for a new $12-million building. In addition, RETTEW’s design successfully addressed the specialized challenges presented by the firing range, laboratories, the communications center, and the facility’s overall high-level security needs.
