Penn State Health Lancaster Pediatric Center

Recognizing a need for pediatric specialty care in Lancaster County, Penn State Health chose to repurpose a former Toys”R”Us store in Manheim Township for its center dedicated to serving children and their families. The 6.5-acre project site, which is easily accessible from Route 30 and Harrisburg Pike, offers a variety of medical, surgical, and outpatient services.

RETTEW’s involvement in converting the 46,800-SF building to a pediatric health center included developing the design and permitting plans, infiltration analysis, stormwater management, landscape architecture, and roadway improvements. The existing entrance was also enhanced with the addition of a porte cochère to shelter guests from the elements. RETTEW’s overall site plan included provisions for a future building as well. By creating access to pediatric services at this location, families in Lancaster County and the surrounding communities benefit from a specialty care center in their own back yard.
