Quality Bicycle Parts Distribution Center

Widely known as the best wholesale distributor in the cycling industry, Quality Bicycle Products (QBP) was rapidly expanding and in need of a new facility. Looking to embed themselves in a strong biking region, QBP settled on Lancaster County but needed help finding a suitable location and navigating through that new area’s approval and permitting processes.

RETTEW was already working in East Hempfield Township and worked with QBP to confirm this site as an ideal expansion location. The site design incorporated state-of-the-art stormwater management, including rain gardens, which aligned nicely with the green emphasis of QBP’s corporate culture. In addition, our strong design team and existing relationship with the Township and other local agencies afforded them quick processing and reviews, clear communication, and flexibility as construction commenced. Also, to help accelerate the project schedule, RETTEW combined the preliminary and final land development plan submissions, which granted us several procedural waivers and reduced the overall process by 60 to 90 days. This time savings allowed QBP to shorten the lease on their existing facility and move to the new 120,000-SF facility sooner than expected.
