Located in a rapidly growing area of Lancaster County, the Sheetz at Brookside project faced several unique challenges in a short timeframe to ensure the store would be operational when the reconstruction on the adjacent State Road was complete and key businesses opened nearby. RETTEW provided services from conceptual design through permitting, as well as construction administration.
As the land planner for the overall Brookside master plan, RETTEW worked with Sheetz to incorporate site considerations for pedestrian circulation, a drive-thru for convenience store services, and stormwater impact. Additionally, RETTEW’s long-standing relationships with state and local agencies helped expedite the approval process, completing the permitting three months ahead of schedule. This provided Sheetz with the flexibility to open its Brookside location and serve Lancaster County residents as the State Road improvements were completed.
