Farmdale-Ferndale Storm Sewer Improvements

West Hempfield Township was looking to pave the streets in one of its neighborhoods as part of a capital improvement project. The neighborhood was built in the 1970s and the existing stormwater infrastructure was also in need of repair and/or replacement. RETTEW worked with the Township to analyze the existing pavement, curbing, and stormwater facilities throughout the neighborhood. We also televised the underground storm sewer system and performed a field analysis to determine pavement, curbing, and storm structure suitability.

To help ensure funding for the project, RETTEW prepared grant applications that resulted in funding from two Commonwealth Financing Authority programs: a grant from the H2O PA Act and a grant from the PA Small Water and Sewer Program. The funding from these two grants helped supplement the cost of this capital improvement project.

Following our analyses, RETTEW prepared recommendations, construction plans, bid documents, and an estimated cost and schedule for the project.
