Furmano Environmental Regulatory Compliance Assessment

Furmano Foods needed to ensure that their operations were in compliance with environmental regulations and requirements, and wanted a single all-encompassing system that tracked environmental compliance and reporting items as well as agency submittal deadlines. They hired RETTEW to conduct the environmental regulatory compliance assessment, which included a breadth of media such as air, radiation, stormwater, water, and wastewater.

Due to our familiarity with Furmano’s facilities and operations from past projects, and our in-depth knowledge of and experience in industrial environmental regulations, our staff was a good fit for the job. We conducted on-site data collection, daily operations investigations, and personnel interviews, and also scheduled and performed an exhaustive file review at the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP). RETTEW was able to quickly assure the client that they were meeting all environmental compliance requirements. In addition, the comprehensive tracking tool we implemented will help Furmano Foods meet environmental compliance targets and deadlines and avoid potentially costly fines and penalties from PA DEP and/or the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
